OFA recently joined a coalition of forestry organizations urging Congress to maintain US Forest Service funding for the Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) Program at FFY 2012 levels or higher. The FIA program is vitally important providing ongoing and updated inventory information on the nation’s forests and forest products industry. It has provided three-fourths of a century of data and is critical for maintaining trend information on the present and future of the nation’s forests. OFA co-signed letters to both House and Senate appropriations committees. See the letter here.
